8 ideas of lovely games for couples

For your couple to function in the long run, you sometimes have to break the routine. Because if routine is a good thing for a couple, it’s still necessary to spice things up once in a while.

So, just for an evening, forget television, phones, netflix… And focus on your lover.

Fun game for couples #1 : The small papers game

It was something I did all the time with my friends when I was younger and we were bored.

How does it go?

You each writes 4 activities that you want to do on 4 different bits of paper. It can be an intimate position, going jogging, preparing a dish, playing a game, taking a bath… It doesn’t matter, but it must be an activity that can be done together!

You then mix all the bits of paper together and pull out ONE. The activity written on the paper must imperatively be carried out right away. You can continue drawing papers throughout the evening.

Fun game for couples #2 Gourmet discoveries

It’s a very good game to learn to trust your partner! Although maybe your guard shouldn’t be completely down… In any case, crazy laughter is guaranteed!

How does it go?

You each go shopping on your own and choose 5 ingredients/food items each. You then blindfold your partner and make him taste the chosen food. Each bad answer earns him a dare.

The last time we played that with my sweetheart, he made me believe he had fed me dog food when it was in fact smoked herring! I thought I was going to kill him but we laughed a lot! In addition, being persuaded that he had made me eat dog food, I avenged myself by making him eat … fish flakes.

Fun game for couples #3 : Exquisite corpse

Have you heard about the ultimate game known as The Exquisite Corpse? No, here goes Mr. Wikipedia’s little definition :
“Exquisite corpse, also known as exquisite cadaver (from the original French term cadavre exquis), is a method by which a collection of words or images is collectively assembled. Each collaborator adds to a composition in sequence, either by following a rule (e.g. “The adjective noun adverb verb the adjective noun.” as in “The green duck sweetly sang the dreadful dirge.”) or by being allowed to see only the end of what the previous person contributed.”

How does it go?

Let your imagination run wild! Start writing a sentence (always following the subject-verb-complement structure). Then fold the paper on top of what you wrote so that your partner can’t read it. He continues, etc… After a dozen sentences, unfold the paper and read your beautiful novel aloud!

Fun game for couples #4 : The magic dice

If you ambition to break the routine in bed, this game should delight you!

How does it go?

Take a dice, a sheet of paper and a pen. Separate the paper into two columns. In the first, write 6 verbs for sexy actions (bite, lick, kiss …) and in the other column, 6 body parts (mouth, neck, belly …).

One of you starts by rolling the dice once, and then a second time (if you have two dice, it’s even better). As you have probably figured out, you will have to do the action the first dice has designated to the according body part.

Fun game for couples #5 : The couple’s questions game

This one is the most open! Ask a question, any question! Don’t hold back, anything goes!

Why?

To learn to know each other better. Because even if you’re under the impression of knowing everything about her or to know him by heart, you could be surprised by the answers!

Fun game for couples #6 : Board games for couples

Quite a few exist, look around and take your pick!

My preference goes to those that target the couple’s communication skills while staying fun (it’s a game, not a therapy).

Fun game for couples #7 : The game of the 5 questions

Where you will find wether you are good at communicating together… or not!

How does it go?

Think of a place (where you can really go). Like a room in your apartment, or more specific like : on the washing machine, in the garage…

Your partner can then ask you 5 questions before guessing. (You can only answer with “yes” or “no”).

Once he has managed to guess the place you have chosen, it’s his turn to think of an action he would like to do there.

You then are allowed 5 questions to guess the action. If you succeed, the action must be carried out in the chosen place!

Fun game for couples #8 : Your story : the novel

A “game” that takes time, a lot of time, but is worth it!

How does it go?

Buy a small notebook and write down all the important things you have done since the beginning of your relationship. Sometimes an event you consider as a milestone won’t necessarily be for your partner and vice versa. That’s also an interesting part of the game!

We have done this for our first three years as a couple and it’s just great because when we read the notebook, we can see how much we have done together! How much we have evolved…

The problem is that once you stop, it’s difficult to get back on track.
